kindo is warming up

We’re still not open to the world, but now we have a name, an URL, a blog and a private beta version. See blog.kindo.com and www.kindo.com

So thats the end of the secret era, and the start of the kindo era. May it last forever.

The Alpha

We now have a working site, and today we finally started to invite people to test it out.

It’s far from ready for the public - we’re working hard on design, copy, features, bugs - but it’s good enough to get valuable feedback.

Stay tuned for the beta…

(oh it’s fun to be secretive)

Three Wise Interns

This week three brave men have confirmed that they’ll join Project_Secret_Stuff, as our summer interns. They’re all from the same business school here in London (which has a name that’s impossible to remember), but with different backgrounds and nationalities. I think they’ll do a good job.

Being an intern is not easy, though. Usually you need to work harder than regular employees, in order to get a full-time offer at the end. At the same time you’re accepting a lower salary, since the job is part of your education.

More work and less money… doesn’t seem like an ideal setup. But I’m glad I’ve done it - the experience and network is good to have. For example, I once did a business plan for launching a German bratwurst fast-food chain across the US. In retrospect that feels quite surreal.

The Summer Interns

I’ve had 6 interviews today with potential summer interns for the “Secret One”, all of them at Starbucks. The youngest one was 21 years old, oldest 37. Some really good people, some less good. London is a good place for recruiting people from all over the world, there is plenty of local knowledge and native language skills. It’s too bad this city is expensive, dirty, and noisy, and doesn’t have a beach or mountain close by.

.com

Yesterday we bought the .com address for our new project, from a friendly Finn living in the States. Today I bought got some additional top-level domains, straight from the registrator, which of course was much cheaper. I’m now working on getting rest of the important domain names, which is a real pain. World domination is not easy.
