Wonder if it’s a good idea… Maybe something for glissers, one day…

Home exchange for surfers?
Published December 28, 2007 business development , random ideas , surf directory 0 CommentsI visited a good ol friend today, who recently bought a house far out in Bohuslän’s archipelago.
She told me a story about her great grand-father, who was a fisherman in the village. Apparently, all of the men in the village used to work on the same fishing boat, called “Polarstjärnan”. Around 1890 the boat went missing, and all the men perished - including her ancestor. Only women and children were left in the village, left to take care of themselves.
So I guess my daily struggle with the District line is quite OK, considering.
Here’s a short clip from Stocken. It’s an amazingly beautiful place, but unfortunately the quality of the clip is bad.
Over the last few months, Kindo has hired 5 students from a top European business school called ESCP-EAP. The school has campuses in 4 major European cities, and the students we’ve had from them have all been good. I was speaking at the school few weeks ago, and on Friday I went back again to participate as a judge in a competition.
Even with all this close interactions with the students and faculty staff, I haven’t been able to memorize the name of the school. Not once have I been able to correctly remember the weird combination “ESCP-EAP”. Instead I usually go “EPSA-EEP”, or “EEPC-EPA”, or “EPAC-EPP”, and just let people figures out what I mean.
But come on! This is a business school, who should teach students how to create and manage companies. Surely there must be a better name than ESPE-EPAE… sorry ESCP-EAP.
I’m just back from Leweb3, which is one of the big European web conferences. It was fruitful in many ways and met lots of fun people, but the party at La Scala was weird.
When I arrived around 11 pm, the dance floor was starting to get crowded - by middle-aged, slightly overweight engineers, all male, all dancing with each other, shaking their booties. When I looked out on the crowd I could easily count the few women, who must have been either very happy, or very scared.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if a bunch of male strippers would have shown up on the stage - it had that kind of vibe. But the free bar was nice!
